About Brother Sun....

Brother Sun is a new acoustic trio featuring singer-songwriters Pat Wictor, Greg Greenway, and Joe Jencks. Nationally touring folk artists from three major points on the map - New York, Boston, and Chicago - the trio celebrate the power of singing together, three rich voices blending on a well-crafted foundation of guitar, slide guitar, and piano. Calling upon contemporary songwriting, and informed by the deep roots of gospel, blues, and folk, the trio weaves a tapestry of harmony that is fresh and yet familiar.

Pat Wictor has become the name that is being chatted about on the acoustic, blues, folk and Americana circuits -- In a remarkably short period of time. Steeped in American "roots" music, Wictor is a contemporary songwriter and interpreter drawing on the rural country, gospel, and blues traditions of our nation.

Joe Jencks is an international touring performer, songwriter, entertainer, and educator. From venues like Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, to coffee houses, festivals, spiritual communities, and schools, Jencks has spent the last nine years touring full time. His songs have traveled to every continent via radio, CDs, web casts, and other musicians.

Greg Greenway,
Originally from Richmond, VA, moved to Boston for its rich folk music tradition and has become one of its most unique and superlative emissaries. Musically, he draws inspiration from all over the map--gospel, rock, blues, Jazz, and world music. But his center is in the singer/songwriter tradition that traces its roots all the way back to the social awareness of Woody Guthrie.

Coffee With Conscience Concert Series

Ahrre Maros is the owner of Ahrre's Coffee Roastery in Westfield & the Fair Trade Coffee Company on line. He has been presenting live musical events since 1992, when he first opened the Common Ground Cafe in Summit. The Cafe is gone now, but Ahrre continues bringing Professional Touring Musical Artists to the area for the benefit of the local community and several local Charities.

Currently, Ahrre presents the Coffee With Conscience Concert Series in Westfield, which is a Seven-show Series which acts as a fund-raiser—raising much needed funds for worthy causes—while providing the participants with the opportunity to attend quality performance events near their homes, providing an audience with a cultural experience, providing artists with a venue to display their talents, and generally strengthening the local community by bringing a group of people together for an evening of music in a comfortable setting.
